In 2006, following further study with eminent harpist Caryl Thomas,
her next album of classical harp music ‘Hafan’ was released
and played nationally with tv and radio appearances.
2007 saw her invited to teach harp on a course for budding harpists from around
Wales at the Royal Welsh College of Music of Drama. She then combined her busy
performing schedule with working on the committee of the European Harp Symposium
which visited Wales for the first time. Her duties included PR and liasing with
the media as well as performing, organising photo shoots and presenting concerts
and workshops and appearing on stage at the Wales Millennium Centre in the opening
Gala Concert.
In 2008 Glenda continued touring Wales presenting workshops, concerts and promoting
her love of Wales and traditional Welsh music in schools, nursing homes,
at folk clubs and for organisations. She organised and lead Harp Days at the
Wales Millennium Centre for harpists of all ages and abilities as well as performing
on stage and introducing her new harp ensemble ‘Seventh Heaven’ to
the Tesco stage.
2009 sees her launch her latest CD to date, ‘O’r Galon’/ ‘From
the Heart’, which is a collection of her most cherished arrangements and
improvisations of Welsh folk music, in time for St David’s Day celebrations.
She will also publish a collection of Wedding Music for the Harp and a book of
her own harp compositions as well as continuing her concert, teaching and workshop
schedule.
